I've fallen victim again...

Oops. I really need to remember to post more often.

In the last 4 months, we have closed on a house, moved in, completely moved out of our apartment, settled into the house, worked on the yard/house, rearranged the furniture, and got a cat.

We successfully closed on our house the last day of the year, and our friends helped load the truck while we were closing. Nat's parents helped direct, and by the time we got back to the apartment, everything was loaded and done. Then we went to the house and everything was unloaded and put away. It took a grand total of about 3 hours from start to finish. We were so blessed with the friends and family who helped us with everything.

Things are going well. We're settling in to the house and neighborhood, and as with every homeowner, there's a laundry list of things that need to be done. So far, we have started cleaning the basement, caulked the tub, called the plumber to fix 2 leaky faucets, set up a basketball goal, fixed the broken porch - broken in a wind storm, did some landscaping, started a garden with a fence, and have plans to do lots of other things.

But the real exciting thing that's happened lately is the beautiful cat that we got about 3 weeks ago. Nat finally gave me the okay to get an animal, after a long time of trying. So I started an online search for a Siamese mix kitten/cat to adopt. After a few weeks of searching, we went to look at a cat named Sweets in a foster home about a half hour from our house.

While we were there, the foster mom called in another cat (he came when he was called!). Sauntering in was a beautiful chocolate and seal point Siamese mix. He was playful and not shy at all. He also didn't have as much fur as most cats do, which means he doesn't shed as much as most.

After discussing with Nat, we decided to go back and adopt this cat. We named him Loki, and he lives up to his name! He's quite the god of mischief. He will race from the front door around to the back door and then fly up the stairs. He'll also toss up catnip mouse and chase it, running around chasing things. Right now, he's sleeping and snoring on the couch enjoying the sunshine.

For some reason I'm not able to upload photos... check facebook. :)

I have definitely fallen victim to loving a beautiful house and cat. I've also fallen victim to actually agreeing to like it here in Maryland.
